I'm wearing my glasses and that annoys me. My contact lens ripped this morning and so I could only see out of one eye for part of the day, until I developed a headache and nausea and begged Ken to drive me to my apartment to get my glasses and also the packaging that I accidentally had shipped to my apartment instead of to work, because what my apartment really needed was 5,000 tiny plastic bags. So as you can see, I have many problems.

Haha. No. I like music though.

Depends on what I see first.

Saying the wrong thing.

I normally sleep with a comforter and then a fleece blanket on top of the comforter. If I wake up in the mdidle of the night and I'm cold then somehow, in my half asleep state, I perform some kind of manuever with my legs that completely flips both my blankets completely over so that the fleece is on the bottom and they are still arranged perfectly. I have no idea how I do it, but I CANNOT do it when I'm awake all the way.

Eh. Too tall.

Tough call. I've never dated anyone who was especially good at the romance.

And none too pleased about it. The trip was amazing. Pictures and journal forthcoming, maybe this weekend or next week sometime.

I did both flights with no medication and minimal panicking. I did almost everything there is to do in Seattle in four days, so I'm a little bit tired, though I also rested plenty and spent some quality time in the hot tub at my hotel.

Time to get situated back at work. Looks like nothing went wrong while I was gone. Does this make me a good manager, or expendable?

I'm off to Seattle tomorrow! The flight takes off at 5:45 PM and I'll be gone until next Tuesday. I am VERY excited though, as usual, nervous about the plane ride. I like to state with authority that the plane WILL crash, firstly because saying it out loud somehow seems like it makes it less likely that it will actually happen, and also because if the plane DOES crash everyone can say that I foresaw my own death. Woohoo.

Aside from all that, I am so very much looking forward to this trip. It should be awesome.

Today is my three year anniversary of graduating from college. I just spent 10 minutes or so reading my dland diary entries from around that day. I can't believe how much has changed. If someone told me that three years from that day I'd be a homeowner, and office manager at a successful and growing chocolate company, and about to go on a vacation by myself, I don't know what I would have thought. Maybe I would have believed them. I remember being completely terrified around that time because my whole life I had an idea of where I would be and what I would be doing in a year, and for the first time I had no clue. The thought of what I might be doing in three years may have made my head explode.

I was excited this morning when I realized the date and realized that I made it here and that everything is okay. I have a life that makes me happy, and not knowing exactly where I'll be one year from now isn't so bad. I actually do know exactly where I want to be, so here's hoping!

4. It's Friday night, where were you? I guess either hanging out with my friends or at home on my computer. Not much has changed.

7. Ever skip school? I skipped classes occasionally but I only skipped the whole day on senior skip day I think.

The other day my AIM stopped working for some mysterious reason. So I uninstalled it and went to aim.com to download it again. Somehow AIM tricked me into downloading a "beta" version of AIM - Triton. I lived with it for two days before I went insane, uninstalled it, and found normal AIM again. It is terrible, awful, and terrible again. Do NOT download it!

Cravings

The past week or so I've had insatiable cravings for 1) Hamburgers and 2) Fruit. I have no idea what the cause of this is but it is bugging me. Fruit isn't so bad, but constantly wanting a hamburger is getting on my nerves.

Other random thing: I forgot to wear my St. Patrick's Day socks. This makes me sad. My aunt gave them to me and I feel like I totally absolutely cannot wear them any other day but St. Patrick's Day, what with their being white socks with four leaf clovers on them. I see them in my sock drawer so often, and sometimes they are one of only a few clean pairs that I have left, and the others have holes in them, but I will wear the ones with holes in them, because it is wrong to wear St. Patrick's Day socks except for on St. Patrick's day. This morning I somehow didn't see them, or didn't think of it, so now I have my brown and white stripey socks on and I will have to wait another 365 days before I get another chance at my St. Patrick's Day socks. Dammit.

Today I got mail. It was a postal money order for $23, and included a note that said "Enclosed is a money order for $23 for a box of chocolate covered strawberries. Please send to >address<."

I can't figure this one out. 'Cause first of all, we don't even HAVE chocolate covered strawberries. So mystery #1 is: where did he get the idea that we have chocolate covered strawberries. Mystery #2 is, where did he get the idea that we could ship a box of chocolate covered strawberries. I mean, logically, common sense (I know these are two confusing concepts for the general public), how would you ship a "box" of chocolate covered fresh fruit? How would it get there in any kind of good condition?

And the biggest mystery to me is, where did he get the idea that shipping this elusive box of chocolate covered strawberries would result in a total cost of $23? Where did he get that number?

So I puzzled over this for a while and tried to come up with the best solution. There was no phone number on the letter. Eventually I wrote him a letter back explaining that I think he must have confused our company with someone else and telling him that I could assist him further over the phone or he could go to our website (that's a shot in the dark, I doubt he has a computer). I enclosed the money order with the letter I sent back. I will be surprised if I hear from him again though.

I haven't made any finaly decisions about the money question of last week. I think I am going to wait until next week to find out how much my tax refund is going to be, and THEN I will decide. Seems like the best solution.

In the meantime, March is my three paycheck month which mean I am putting aside money for Seattle. I really really want to eat at the "birthplace of Northwestern cuisine" (one of the best cuisines that there is, in my humble opinion). It's called Canlis, and it's tres pricey. So I bought myself a Be My Guest Restaurant Giftcard from AmEx, this way, I already have the money earmarked for that in particular. By the time I actually go and eat, the pain of having spent that kind of money on one meal with have long since ebbed. I feel smart.

Every Thursday from the 16th until the week before I leave on vacation I'm going to participate in this project called Life Stories, where you go to a nursing home and talk to the residents, who tell you about their lives. Then you contribute and help to write the memoirs, which they then get a copy of. How cool is that? I am so so excited to be a part of it.

This is a busy month for me. Easter is coming, which is the most fun holiday in the chocolate business, plus I have lots of personal stuff going on. I hope it all goes fast so that I can get my vacation on!
